Lake Vermilion offers something for everyone, from the seasoned pro to the novice angler.
Walleye,
northerns, large- and
smallmouth bass,
muskies, crappies, bluegill, and perch can all be found here.
Wide variations in the lake's structure - drop-offs, sand-bottom, rock bottom, sunken islands and reefs - intrigue anglers and offer a fishing challenge. With over 40,000 acres of water, 1200 miles of shoreline and 365 islands to explore, you can have a new fishing experience every day of your visit.
The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources maintains the lake with a well-managed walleye hatchery, northern rearing ponds, and muskie stocking programs.
