Lake Vermilion Muskie Fishing
Muskie season opens June 7,2008 and closes December 1, 2008.
Lake Vermilion is fast becoming known for big muskies. In their netting last year, 15% of the muskies recorded by the Minnesota DNR were over 50 inches.
The DNR is currently stocking muskie at a rate of 5000 fingerlings every other year.
The largest muskie reported by one of our guests in 2006 was 55 1/2" caught by Glenn Schwarz the week of Aug 28 - Sept 3. In 2007 a 55 1/2" muskie was also caught, this time by Joe Strub in the week of July 16 - 22.
