Bass season opens May 29
Small Mouth Bass Season: May 29 – Sept. 12
Large Mouth Bass Season: May 29 – Feb. 27
There is a six fish combined total largemouth or smallmouth bass.
Musky season opens June 5 - Dec. 1
Lake Vermilion is fast becoming known for big muskies. According to the most recent fisheries management plan, 3,000 Musky fingerlings will be stocked annually.
One fish possession limit – Minimum size limit is 54″.
Northern season opens May 14
There is currently a protected slot of 30″-40″inches, with one fish allowed over 40″. All northerns of 30-40″ in length must be immediately returned to the lake. Bag limit is 2 fish.
Walleye season opens May 15
According to the most recent fisheries management plan, between 5 and 15 million walleye fry will be stocked annually based on the condition of the walleye population.
All fish caught from 20-26″ must be released immediately.
Possession limit four, only one over 26″.
